Robert Lewis

(Co-Director) Rob began his dancing career at age 4, and has studied all forms of dance – ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, and hip hop, but his specialty is hip hop. Robert recently performed with Xtreme Dance Crew on the second season of MTV’s hit show, America’s Best Dance Crew. He has opened for Souja Boy, Bow Wow and Mims, and was part of the ABDC tour performing at the Rosemont Theatre with the Xtreme Dance Crew. Robert was part of the award winning competition teams for Xtreme Dance Force, Forest Hills Dance Company, Dance Source Unlimited, and Midwest Movement. Robert choreographed for Xtreme competition teams in the 2007-2008 competition season. He has also choreographed winning competition numbers for Forest Hills Dance Academy. Robert owns his own studio, Lewis Dance Progressions, and also teaches at several other dance studios in the Northern Illinois area. He has taught Master Classes in the Northern Illinois area, and has recently adjudicated at dance competitions. His greatest love is teaching and choreographing hip hop, and his new innovative style is fresh and exciting.


Robert Lewis instructs the following:
  • All Boys Hip Hop (Ages 3-4)
  • Warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This beginner level class for boys only is for ages 3 to 4.

  • All Boys Hip Hop (Ages 5-7)
  • Warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This beginner level class for boys only is for ages 5 to 7.

  • All Boys Hip Hop Level II (Ages 7-11)
  • Warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This intermediate level class for boys only is for ages 7 to 11.

    Requirements for Level II Classes:

    Must have Teacher evaluation approval for this level.



  • Hip Hop II (Ages 9-11)
  • Extensive warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This Intermediate level class is for ages 9-11.


    Requirements for Level II Classes:

    Must have Teacher evaluation approval for the level.



  • Hip Hop II / III (Ages 12+)
  • Extensive warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This Intermediate / Advanced level class is for ages 12 and up.


    Requirements for Level II Classes:

    Must have Teacher evaluation approval for the level.



  • All Boys Hip Hop I (Ages 8-11)
  • Extensive warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This class is ages 8-11.

  • Hip Hop I (Ages 7-8)
  • Warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This beginner level class is for ages 7 to 8.

  • Hip Hop I (Ages 5-6)
  • Hip Hop style of dance to younger students ages 5-6. Combinations are taught at the beginner level to popular children songs age appropriate.

  • Adult Hip Hop - Level I
  • Warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This beginner level class is geared towards adults ages 21 and older.

  • Hip Hop III
  • Extensive warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This Advanced level class is for ages 13 and up.


  • Hip Hop III / IV
  • Extensive warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. This Advanced Pre-professional level class is for ages 13 and up.
