Kelsey Schubert

Kelsey started her dance training at the age of three in Boise, Idaho. She has performed in countless productions and competitions across the country. She has been trained in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop and Contemporary. Kelsey competed with S&R Dance Company in Freeport, IL under the direction of Mary Berryhill and Nikki Spinden-Meagher where she gained the majority of her technical jazz and lyrical training until the age of 16. While living in Freeport, Kelsey also had extensive ballet training from Jill Johnson, founder of Studio 121. From there Kelsey moved on to further her pre–professional dance training at Xtreme Dance Force, under the direction of Samuel Renzetti. During her time at Xtreme, her team took home two Starpower National Victory Cups. Kelsey has studied with world famous Hip Hop choreographers including, Tabitha and Napoleon D’Umo, Kevin Maher, Jesse Lee Santos, Brian Friedman, Marty Kudelka, and Sky Hoffman and has had the pleasure of taking from Mia Michaels and Nick Lazzarini among other groundbreaking choreographers. She and her teammates performed at the halftime show for the 2006 Major League Soccer All-Star game starring Lupe Fiasco and was the opening act for major Rap artists Chingy, Chamillionaire and Tyrese. In May 2011, Kelsey graduated from Elmhurst College with her B.A. in Philosophy and a minor in dance. She was chosen multiple times to set pieces on her peers based on her choreography. Kelsey was also chosen to be a soloist performer in each final showcase. Her dance experience at Elmhurst College helped her develop a more honed choreographic style and technique. Kelsey has been teaching and choreographing for over a decade. Her dances and choreography have been recognized in high point and overall awards at competitions along with special judges awards. She has been honored to be a guest Teacher / choreographer and judge at many Northern Illinois studios. Kelsey is excited to be home at Xtreme and is looking forward to sharing her passion and joy for dance with everyone that she can!
