Jessie Gutierrez*

Jessie Gutierrez is native of Havana, Cuba. She studied at the National School of Art in Havana during which time she participated in The International Theater School Festival (ITS) in Holland and graduated as a Professional Dancer and Teacher. In 2002 she continued her professional training with the National Company, "Danza Contemporanea de Cuba", where she toured to England, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Italy, Hong Kong, Mexico, Austria and Hungary as a company member. She became Principal Dancer in 2006 and worked with Internationally recognized choreographers, Jan Linkens, Cathy Marston, Rafael Bonachela, Carlos Junior Acosta, Samir Akika, Luca Bruni, Kenneth Kvarnstrom, Mats Ek and Andrea Miller. She moved to Chicago in 2008 and started working with "Hedwig Dances" and "Concert Dance Inc.". She was also part of the 2010 Lyric Opera Season, "Damnation of Faust". Along these years she's been teaching at different Dance Academies and Dance Companies around Chicago and Suburb areas, like Ruth Page School of Dance, A&A, School of Performing Arts (SPA), Faubourg Ballet and State Street.

Ballet (Ages 2-3)

Twinkle Tots/ Shining Stars Ballet focuses on the essence of movement first! You will find creative movement and ballet technique. For ages 2 to 3.

Ballet I (Ages 4)

Shooting Stars Ballet focuses on physical growth, flexibility, coordination, and Ballet technique. For ages 4.

Lyrical I (Ages 12+)

All styles and technique are taught in the Beginner Lyrical class. Class starts with a technical warm-up followed by across the floor combinations, progressions and a challenging floor combination towards the end of class. For ages 12+

All Lyrical students are strongly encouraged to be enrolled in a ballet class.

Jazz I (Ages 12+)

All styles and technique are taught in this Jazz class. Class starts with a technical warm-up followed by across the floor combinations, progressions and a challenging floor combination towards the end of class. For ages 12+

All Jazz students are strongly encouraged to be enrolled in a ballet class.

Jazz III (Age 12+)

Jazz Turns / Tech III (Ages 12+)

Prepare yourself to try-out for high school dance or pom teams. This class teaches jazz technique at the Advanced level. Focus on flexibility, turns, leaps, jumps, kicks, arm placement, overall technique and style.

NEED TEACHER RECOMMENDATION FOR ENROLLMENT

Jazz II (Ages 9-11)

All styles and technique are taught in the intermediate jazz class. Class starts with a technical warm-up followed by across the floor combinations, progressions and a challenging floor combination towards the end of class. This class is for ages 9-11.

All Jazz students are strongly encouraged to be enrolled in a ballet class.

Requirements for Level II Classes:

Be evaluated and approved by the teacher.

Jazz II (Ages 12+)

All styles and technique are taught in the Intermediate jazz class. Class starts with a technical warm-up followed by across the floor combinations, progressions and a challenging floor combination towards the end of class. This class is for ages 12+.

Complete 1+ full year of Level I

Must have Teacher evaluation approval for the level.

All styles and technique are taught in the Intermediate class. Class starts with a technical warm-up followed by across the floor combinations, progressions and a challenging floor combination towards the end of class. This class is for ages 12+.

All Lyrical students are strongly encouraged to be enrolled in a ballet class.

Jazz Turns / Tech I (Ages 12+)

Prepare yourself to try-out for high school dance or pom teams. This class teaches jazz technique. Focus on flexibility, turns, leaps, jumps, kicks, arm placement, overall technique and style.

Ballet II (Ages 9-11)

Intermediate Level ballet technique is taught with ballet barre or floor barre, across the floor and center combinations. Ballet attire: Black leotard and pink tights with pink ballet shoes. Hair up in a tight bun.

Requirements for Level II Classes:

Complete 1+ full year of Level I

Must have Teacher evaluation approval for the level.

Kinder Combo I (Ages 5-6)

Take kinder combo If You want to try A VARIETY OF dance styles. This combination class covers Tap, Jazz and Ballet basics. For Ages 5-6

Jazz I (Ages 7-8)

All Jazz students are strongly encouraged to be enrolled in a ballet class.

Lyrical I (Ages 7-8)

Lyrical for ages 7-8 at the beginner level

Lyrical I (Ages 9-11)

All styles and technique are taught in this beginner Lyrical class. Class starts with a technical warm-up followed by across the floor combinations, progressions and a challenging floor combination towards the end of class. For ages 9-11.

All Lyrical students are strongly encouraged to be enrolled in a ballet class.

Jazz Turns / Tech II (Ages 12+)

Lyrical II (Ages 7-8)

Lyrical for ages 7-8 at the intermediate level. For the experienced dancer who has a full season in Lyrical at Xtreme.

Ballet II (Ages 5-6)

Ballet technique is taught with ballet barre, floor barre, across the floor and center combinations. For Ages 5-6 at the intermediate level.
