Evan Morrison

With over a decade’s experience in breakdancing and event promotion, Evan Morrison has actively been a member of the suburban Chicagoland hip-hop community. He first began learning to breakdance while in high school as a part of Urban Arts Club, a hip-hop dance program for students founded by members of the Chicago Tribe. From then on and even after graduating, Evan would assist the club in hosting, promoting, and advertising of their annual Suburban Noize dance event, which lasted for 8 years from 2008-2016. He would begin teaching in an unofficial capacity during this period, hosting his own workshops for younger dancers who whished to learn breakdance and also organizing workshops from other prominent Bboys from all over the United States, such as Wealthy from Minnesota and Rox-it from Indiana/Las Vegas.

By 2016, after deciding to focus on his event promotion and teaching instead of competing, Evan began teaching in an official capacity. First, he would become a teaching assistant with the Breaking Program, at Versa5 Dance Studio (Downers Grove). By 2018, he had become an assistant breakdance instructor at Virtues in Motion (Yorkville). The following year, he became the lead breakdance instructor and began hosting breakdance events at the studio until the pandemic.

Since the beginning of 2023, Evan has returned to teaching and is dedicated to building confidence amongst young, inexperienced dancers and cultivating the next generation of hip-hop dancers in the suburbs of Chicago, an area teeming with unlimited potential in dance talent.
